Load Board Opportunities Optimized for your Drivers

Source with Optimal Dynamics automatically searches all loads that are available across all of the load boards that you have connected in order to find lanes that are a good match for your network. This optimizes for additional freight that will increase driver utilization without reducing coverage of your existing booked loads in your TMS.

Here's a guide to finding drivers with a Source Load match type, reviewing the Optimal Source Load Match, and sending a source request:

Drivers with a Source Load Match Type

  1. In the Dispatching dashboard, make sure you're in the "Assign by Driver" view, which lists all drivers.
  2. Look for drivers under the Match Type column. Drivers with "Source Load" listed here are matched with available loads from external sources.
  3. For each driver with a "Source Load" match type, click View Details in the Match Action column to open up more information about that particular load.

Review the Optimal Source Load Match

  1. Once you've clicked View Details, the Dispatch Match Details panel will open on the right side.
  2. In this panel, review the Optimal Source Load Match section. Here, you'll find:
    • Loaded Miles: The total miles for the load.
    • Empty Miles: The distance the driver would travel empty to pick up the load.
    • Simulated Revenue: An estimated revenue for the load.
  3. Below these details, you'll see specifics for the Source Pick Up and Source Dropoff:
    • Pickup Location and Estimated Pickup Time.
    • Dropoff Location and Estimated Drop Off Time.

Send Source Request

  1. After reviewing the load details and confirming that it's a suitable match, scroll down and click the Send Source Request button at the bottom of the Dispatch Match Details panel.
  2. This action will send the request for the load assignment based on the selected driver’s match and the optimal source load.

By following these steps, you can assign loads to drivers efficiently based on their match type and load details.

Source Tours & Tentative Next Stops

Source Tours simplify driver scheduling by grouping multiple compatible loads into a single, efficient plan. Here's how they work and how to manage them effectively:

What is a Tour?

  • A Tour is a sequence of multiple loads that fit together for a driver.

  • The loads are planned so the driver can run all of them feasibly and meet service times while staying within their available driving hours.

  • Assigning a Tour gives the driver extended visibility into their weekly schedule with a single click, showing all loads they will handle.

Source Load Matches within a Tour

When a Source Load match occurs within a Tour, the process works a bit differently:

  • The loads following the Source Load opportunity remain visible but are labeled as Tentative.

  • Tentative loads are not assignable at this stage because they depend on securing a load similar to the Source Load match.

What Happens Next?

  1. Book a Load: Once a new load is booked and assigned to the driver, the system will automatically re-optimize the matches based on this new load and the driver’s adjusted location.

  2. Confirm the Match: If the newly booked load aligns with the original Source Load opportunity, the Tentative loads will likely be matched to the driver.

  3. Alternative Matches: If the booked load differs from the original Source Load match, the system will generate a new plan of loads.

By following this process, you can ensure efficient load assignments and optimize driver schedules with greater accuracy.
