Intro to Bid Manager

Scope of Module

Bid Manager is part of the Plan product. The module builds on the strategic simulator, with an interface that makes it possible to overlay proposed new business opportunities (from procurement events, mini bids, RFP events, etc.) on the existing network. New freight estimates are turned into actual loads following historical patterns. The strategic planning system then simulates actual dispatching, using current or planned sets of drivers. We can project load coverage that reflects the availability of drivers, the profitability of loads, and the attractiveness of the loads for your drivers.

The module uses a flat file mapping process to take any format of spreadsheet as in input - as long as it includes Origin 5 Digit Zip, Destination 5 Digit Zip, Load Count, Load Frequency, Mileage, and Rate information.

Bid Manager is an iterative process. It is possible to turn off selected lanes for an account when load coverage is not high enough, and to adjust prices and lane bonuses. Bid Manager may also be used in conjunction with other simulation scenarios during “what if” exercises.
